Quake 3: A Look Back by Dr.Gibbs September 21, 2002
It's been more than three years since Q3Test first made its appearance in the Summer of 1999. As more and more news of Doom 3 makes its way onto the scene, it seems the days of Quake 3's prime are quickly coming to a close. As the game makes its way into the realm of classics like Doom and Quake 1, a lot of people are going to be looking back at the days it ruled the gaming scene.
Perhaps the most memorable part of Quake 3 was the anticipation of its arrival. With a public testing period that lasted nearly 6 months, id Software gave Quake 3 fans plenty to get excited over. Besides the leaked Internal Hardware Vendor (IHV) test, the public's only glimpse of the actual game was a large collection of screenshots that were distributed from various sources. On this page, you'll find a pretty good percentage of those screenshots, available once again for public consumption. They are sorted somewhat in their order of original release.
Just to warn you: there are 250k of thumbnails on this page, so please be patient while they load!
