The Scoop

In this, The Deathmatch Zone's second official contest, we hunted for the best new maps of the 2001 holiday season. A number of great entries were narrowed down to just one winner in each category. Maps were rated on both presentation and gameplay, resulting in a score for overall quality. The only restrictions were that the maps had to be new (they couldn't have been released before the contest's starting date) and they had to be for the "vanilla" version of Quake 3.

The two categories were Deathmatch and Capture the Flag.
